Here's another commercial for 1st Metropolitan Builders featuring...uh..the "1st Metropolitan Builders" Guy. Here he shows you how to turn mysterious, foggy inner space into a new rec room, electronic playground or fondue-eating area.

Noteworthy because this commercial features their attempt at using animated characters, which seemed to be quickly retired.

This aired on local Chicago TV in January of 1985.

Here is a vintage Lincoln Carpeting commercial from 1979 - starring the legendary Al Parker - the voice of WLS-TV for most of the 1980's.

Notice there's no Lincoln jingle - had they started using it yet?

This commercial aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, November 4th 1979. (28 years ago today!!!)

Here's Part 3 of a neat special called The Best of Chicago on WFLD Channel 32.
It was produced and directed by the multi-talented WFLD veteran Don Shannon, who graciously donated a copy to us. Don, whose name you have undoubtedly seen here before, was involved in producing and directing a variety of shows at WFLD spanning many decades. From Jerry G. Bishop's Svengoolie to PM Magazine and everything in between - Don saw it all.

Perkins' Fanta-Mals (Commercial #2, 1974?)

Here's kind of a rare oddity - a commercial for a "coloring book/cut-out paper dolls kit" type toy called Fanta-Mals (or Mini-Mals) by Perkins. This was found on an old 3/4" tape and dates to about 1974 or 1975. Does anyone remember these?

Features the Fanta-Mals mascot - "Ralf", the green monster with the pink umbrella.

Again, not sure when or where these aired.
