Eddie Schwartz Interviews Jerry G. Bishop & Rich Koz (Part 1, 1982)

Here's something pretty rare - you get your Jerry G. and Koz fix all in one. (Not to mention a tribute to recently passed "Chicago Ed" Eddie Schwartz). This is Part 1 of a radio interview Eddie did with Jerry G. Bishop (in studio) where they call up Rich Koz at home.

Sorry for the variable and at times muffled audio quality - I did not mix this or attempt to fix it up much. If any audio wizards out there would like to normalize it all to one standard volume and try to run a ...

Dolphin Productions - "Demo Reel" (1978)

Here's a neat demo reel with a lot of vintage clips from Dolphin Productions, a legendary New York-based production company of the 1970's and early '80's that was one of three such firms in the country to use an early, analogue-based video animation system called "Scanimate." (The others were Image West Ltd. of Hollywood, CA and the company that first invented this process, Computer Image Corp. of Denver, CO; a history of the technology can be seen on

The Reluctant Robot (Part 1, 1980)

Here is Part 1 from another all but forgotten Field Communications special production - The Reluctant Robot. It was produced to get kids interested in Astronomical Science; pulsars, planets, space travel, etc. You can definitely see the influence from Star Wars a couple years earlier. The budget must not have been too great because the whole thing comes off as feeling like an episode of Dr. Who. (not that there's anything *wrong* with that) ;-)

Once again, I am pretty sure...

WGN Channel 9 - Len Johnson and the News (Part 1, 1965)

Here's Part 1 of an incredibly rare find - an edition of Len Johnson and the News on WGN Channel 9 from 1965! This was a forerunner to their overnight Night Beat newscast that ran from the late-sixties well into the 1980s.

You'll notice that this was during that awkward transition phase from black-and-white to color with most of the broadcast appearing in black-and-white, but then interspersed by random color commercials and a few color slides.

Thi...

Way to Go! Special (Part 2, 1980)

Here is Part 2 of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I am pretty sure thi...

WGN Channel 9 - The 1985 Chicago Automobile Show Special (First 10 Minutes, 1985)

Here's the first 10 minutes of the 1985 Chicago Auto Show special broadcast on WGN Channel 9, hosted by "Uncle Bobby" Bob Collins of WGN-AM 720. Presented by the Chicago Automobile Trade Association.

Includes an introduction given by Frazier Thomas that occurred at the end of that day's Family Classics presentation, where the movie shown was "The Black Swan" (1942).

Can anyone help with identifying the other people that appear in this clip?
