Here's a rarity for you baseball fans out there - the clean opening for Chicago White Sox games as aired on WSNS Channel 44, as it looked before the voices of the announcers and the sponsor billboards were added on for each game.

Ronald Vasser wrote, produced and directed this opening, with editing by Ron Vasser and Mike Torchia.

Here's something pretty rare - some footage from WFLD Channel 32's Movie for a Saturday Afternoon featuring the Kaiser-era 32 logo, so this must have dated to at least early 1977 (previous to this we only had a tiny excerpt of this bumper). Everyone remembers the great Blizzard of '79 - but how many people remember the Blizzard of 1978? Before the big snow in 1979 hit, this seemed fairly significant I guess, although not as bad as the Big Snow of 1967. Was this just a case of snow-perbole? You decide.

Here's something pretty cool and rare - one of the oldest off-air WSNS clips I've ever personally found - a commercial break for the everybody's movie presentation (this was the 70s, hence no need to capitalize) of the 1943 Monty Woolley / Gracie Fields film "Holy Matrimony" on WSNS Channel 44. From what Chris Tufts (Phantom) recalls, this was a short-lived Sunday afternoon movie showcase. Includes:

Here's another take of an (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL. (Not sure if this ever ran on or was intended to run on WCIU Channel 26 or not.)

This came from the other Quad tape that I found in Jack Mulqueen's basement recently. (Recorded in low band, according to the slate at the opening of this clip - as accompanied by an 800 Hz tone).

Blink, and you'll miss it!

Here is an extreme rarity - a painfully small excerpt from the opening of WFLD Channel 32's Creature Feature program. This was the program that was replaced by Son of Svengoolie in Summer of 1979.

If you pause the video at the right spot you can see a fairly clear shot of the opening title. You can make out a smokey graveyard type atmosphere with a black crow or raven perched on a tree branch to the right and a coffin in the foregro...
