Here's a neat early bumper for Star Trek on one of WFLD's sister stations - WKBD Channel 50 in Detroit. They didn't have any voiceovers or music - none of the others during the episode had them either. Star Trek fans were all business. ;-)

Here's a segment of Jack Horkheimer: Star Hustler as aired on WTTW Channel 11, in honor of Jack, who passed away at the age of 72 this past Friday. Also includes two WTTW Station IDs before and after the segment. This one was from the week of Monday, June 29th through Sunday, July 5th 1987.

Here's a demo reel from R/Greenberg Associates (now known as R/GA Media Group Inc.), which was a New York-based graphic production house that worked in film with animation and live-action effects.

This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.

Here's a treat for "Fuzzy" New Yorkers: a commercial for Carvel Ice Cream, promoting their "Tom Turkey" ice cream cake for Thanksgiving. (The molds used to produce this were also used for such other goodies as Cookie Puss and Fudgie the Whale.) Serves 10 to 12, net weight 45 ounces.

Voiceover by Tom Carvel (the founder and namesake of Carvel Ice Cream), both as himself and (sped-up and heavily processed) as Tom Turkey.
