WFLD Channel 32 - Brady Bunch Hour - "Grapes" (Bumper, 1977?)
Here's a filmed bumper from WFLD Channel 32 advising that The Brady Bunch Hour will continue, complete with a snippet of the theme music as heard over the closing credits. (This was not a reference to their short-lived 1977 variety hour, but a back-to-back block of episodes from the original 1969-74 series that Channel 32 aired regularly.) The bumper uses a stylized "bunch" of grapes as it's motif.
This features the Kaiser-era "32" logo as used during the period the st...
Eddie Schwartz Interviews Jerry G. Bishop & Rich Koz (Part 4, 1982)
Here's something pretty rare - you get your Jerry G. and Koz fix all in one. (Not to mention a tribute to recently passed "Chicago Ed" Eddie Schwartz). This is Part 4 (the last part) of a radio interview Eddie did with Jerry G. Bishop (in studio) where they call up Rich Koz at home.
This part also features veteran WGN-TV newsman, Jack Taylor.
Sorry for the variable and at times muffled audio quality - I did not mix this or attempt to fix it up much. If any aud...
WREX Channel 13 - "The Circus" (Take 1, 1969)

Here's a (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL. (not sure if this ever ran on or was intended to run on WCIU Channel 26 or not)
This came from the other Quad tape that I found in Jack Mulqueen's basement recently. (recorded in low band, according to the slate at the opening of this clip - as accompanied by an 800 Hz tone).
I was hoping this tape might have contained another episode of...
WSNS Channel 44 - "Afternoons Are Fun On 44" (Promo, 1974)

Here's a very cool glimpse at some very old TV-44 - from 1974!
It's a slides-only promo of the afternoon lineup of WSNS Channel 44, which ranged "from cartoons to action" and at the time of this airing consisted of:
- 3pm - Robin Hood (presumably the 1950's British-made TV series with Richard Greene in the title role)
- 3:30pm - Popeye on 44 with Steve Hart (a what-ful of surprises?) ;-)
- 4pm - Spider-Man (...
WCFC Channel 38 - Liberty Temple Full Gospel News - "Mad" (Part 4, 1987)
Here's Part Four of the movie "Mad" on WCFC-TV Channel 38 - our religious station in Chicago - during the program "Liberty Temple Full Gospel News". This feels like something that should be part of the Found Footage Festival.
It ends with a "To Be Continued..." which alas was at the end of the recording, so we are left without a conclusion. :-(
Mad: A true story about the life of Pastor Clifford E. Turner growing up as a young man in the inner city of Chicago, ...

WGN Channel 9 - When Movies Were Movies - "Casablanca" (Opening, 1979)

Here is the opening of the WGN classic movie show, When Movies Were Movies - which this night was showing the film "Casablanca." You really have to appreciate the creativity in this, as well as the time it must have taken to make those cut-outs.
As for the theme music used for this long-running showcase - it was from the instrumental Overtur...
