Northwest Federal Savings - "The Tax Savings Place" (Commercial, 1981)

Here's a commercial for Northwest Federal Savings advertising their new Tax Free CD (which in those days only meant "certificate of deposit" - the Compact Disc wasn't introduced until a year later). Note how one of the business-suited people sheds his suit and leaves that crowd to join the more middle-class crowd nearby. As noted in a lower-third text, the terms are $500 minimum deposit, one year term, penalty for early withdrawal. (Ah, the days . . . )

American Automobile Insurance Brokers - "Old Time Movies" (Commercial, 1979)

Here's a spot for American Automobile Insurance Brokers, with clips of old silent films of cars driving recklessly accompanied by "old-timey" music, and contrasting such scenes with the reality of millions of auto accidents a year. This ad advises that those without insurance shouldn't drive, and those seeking insurance should call CE6-5366. (CEntral-6 5366) (or in modern parlance, 236-5366)

WMAL Channel 7 (Washington, D.C.) - Money Movie 7 - "State Fair" (Commercial Break, 1976)

Here's an almost 40-year-old clip (to the day!) that I found randomly at the end of a Umatic videotape. Thought not from Chicago TV, it's still interesting. (of course)

It's a rare clip from WMAL Channel 7 out of Washington, D.C. which became WJLA-TV Channel 7 less than a year later. It's from something called "Money Movie 7" where they were airing the film "State Fair" [1962] starring Pat Boone and Ann-Margret, Sadly, this was the only break that survived. Includes:

Way to Go! Special (Part 2, 1980)

Here is Part 2 of the Field Communications produced Way to Go! Special - an hour long (compilation?) showcase of some special kids and what they do. Has a lot of nice little slices of late seventies life as a kid. :-) The tape was dated May of 1980. My contact says that only a few of these "Specials" were made. Like I said, I'm not sure if these were compilations of segments shown on the regular Way to Go program, or if they were specifically produced for these specials. I am pretty sure thi...

Son of Svengoolie - Assorted Clips Compilation - "Christmas Stuff" (Part 4)

Here is Part 4 of a compilation of assorted Son of Svengoolie clips. I did not make this compilation - it has been floating around the trading circles for a long time, and this is the best copy I've been able to find. It has some neat clips you will not see anywhere else.

Featuring:

The Day After Christmas Complaint Department (must be from Dec. 1983, since this is a reference to The Day After movie that aired in November of that year and was big news.) (inc...

In reference that this aired on New Year's Day, notice the noisemaker horn in Sven's hand.
