Everyone remembers the great Blizzard of '79 - but how many people remember the Blizzard of 1978? Before the big snow in 1979 hit, this seemed fairly significant I guess, although not as bad as the Big Snow of 1967. Was this just a case of snow-perbole? You decide.

Here's a now haunting commercial for Texaco that features someone running up the stairs of the World Trade Center to get to the roof. You also get to see some shots of the exterior.

I wonder if the guy who was in this commercial thought about it on that date 21 years later.

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. Not sure when this segment was created but I went with the 1977 classic "patchwork" Snipets logo. Enjoy.

Fox Valley Center - "Follow the Fox" (Commercial, 1975)

Here's an early commercial (possibly the first?) for Fox Valley Center in Aurora (which had just opened in 1975), featuring an animated fox as he hides behind a tree, snacks at a table and emerges with various items, with an admonition to "just follow the Fox."

Fox Valley Center is now known as just Fox Valley Mall, and was formerly Westfield Fox Valley.
