Here is a commercial for the defunct, pre-Home-Depot home-improvement chain. Did they have stores outside of the Chicagoland area?

Ahh...so many memories of going to the one next to Forest Park Mall with my Dad as a kid, looking for a wooden shim or some kind of junk, and being incredibly bored. :-)

This aired on local Chicago TV in October of 1984.

The Lost Snipets - "PeaScraper" (A FuzzyMemories Re-Creation)

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. This was an early one, circa 1975 (ok it's a minute long but not all of the early ones were short) I found something cool to add to this - the circa 1975 title for Snipets, during the Kaiser Broadcasting era! Notice it is a little different from the Field era one that took over in 1977. Enjoy.

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. This was an early one, notice it's only 30 seconds long as opposed to the usual 1 minute length that most were in later years. Mattel - "Mork & Mindy Toys" (Commercial, 1979)

Here's a commercial for a collection of toys by Mattel based on the TV show Mork & Mindy. Includes:

Mork doll with Talking Spacepack - "Says 8 things"

Mork Talking Ragdoll - "Says 7 things" (some even halfway intelligible)

Mork from Ork (this would have been my favorite - a little Mork action figure inside an egg that you can open - I pretty much did this myself when my mom gave me the egg from her pantyhose to play with)

Looking for a job? Let Mr. Don Ferris help you, circa 1959. Make sure you wear your pressed white shirt and gray slacks when you show up for the interview. :-)

Illinois Department of Labor presents "Jobs In Chicago", with Don Ferris speaking for the Illinois State Employment Service. It aired on WTTW Channel 11. Here is a Station ID in Spanish for WCIU Channel 26 and set at the Daley Center Picasso.

Music used is "While You See a Chance" by Steve Winwood.

Not sure when they used this ID, but 1982 seems a good estimate.

It was produced and directed by the multi-talented WFLD veteran Don Shannon, who graciously donated a copy to us. Don, whose name you have undoubtedly seen here before, was involved in producing and directing a variety of shows at WFLD spanning many decades. From Jerry G. Bishop's Svengoolie to PM Magazine and everything in between - Don saw it all.
