Here is a commercial for the defunct, pre-Home-Depot home-improvement chain. Did they have stores outside of the Chicagoland area?

Ahh...so many memories of going to the one next to Forest Park Mall with my Dad as a kid, looking for a wooden shim or some kind of junk, and being incredibly bored. :-)

This aired on local Chicago TV in October of 1984.

The Lost Snipets - "PeaScraper" (A FuzzyMemories Re-Creation)

I had some additional Snipets segments but they were transferred from 16mm film and did not have the opening and closing on them. So, I did a little editing job and added them in. This was an early one, circa 1975 (ok it's a minute long but not all of the early ones were short) I found something cool to add to this - the circa 1975 title for Snipets, during the Kaiser Broadcasting era! Notice it is a little different from the Field era one that took over in 1977. Enjoy.

Illinois Department of Labor presents "Jobs In Chicago", with Don Ferris speaking for the Illinois State Employment Service. It aired on WTTW Channel 11. This was one of the first if not the first TV job for Don Ferris. (He was of course a long-time voiceover announcer at both WTTW and WSNS) Includes:

Here's Part 3 of a neat special called The Best of Chicago on WFLD Channel 32.
It was produced and directed by the multi-talented WFLD veteran Don Shannon, who graciously donated a copy to us. Don, whose name you have undoubtedly seen here before, was involved in producing and directing a variety of shows at WFLD spanning many decades. From Jerry G. Bishop's Svengoolie to PM Magazine and everything in between - Don saw it all.
