Here's a commercial for Olympia Dodge with Bill Frank talking about their "Star Warranteed" program. Olympia Dodge locations were Route 30 and Western in Chicago Heights, 5549 Mannheim in La Grange, and Mannheim and Oakton in Des Plaines.
"As close to new as space-age technology will allow."
This aired on local Chicago TV early Monday, June 29th 1981 @ about 3:00am!
Dave Cory Ford - "100 Truck-A-Thon" (Commercial, 1980)
Here's a commercial for Dave Cory Ford - 6200 West Touhy Avenue next to the Leaning Tower in Niles - wait a sec, wasn't that King Datsun (Nissan)? Yep, they eventually moved there, but in the earlier days it was Dave Cory Ford I guess.
The spokesman is not "Dave Cory" but an actor - not sure what his name is but I've seen him in another commercial local to Rochester, New York on YouTube.
This aired on local Chicago TV early Saturday, September 20th 1980.
Jim Sorensen Chevrolet - "Elk Conversion Vans" (Commercial, 1983)
Here's another commercial for Jim Sorensen Chevrolet featuring Jim and his wife - this time featuring their classic exchange, "You're a good wife, Carol - You're a great Chevy dealer, Jim." (So she's only "good" - but he's great??)
One mile east of Marriott's Great America - on Green Bay Road in Waukegan.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Tuesday, March 15th 1983. (The Ides of March!)
Zimmerman Lincoln-Mercury - "Cub Reporter" (Commercial, 1978)
Here's a commercial for Zimmerman Lincoln-Mercury featuring their "Cub Reporter" - seems likely inspired by Long Chevrolet's Timmy to me.
Featuring Zimmy The Zales Cat!
Zimmerman Lincoln-Mercury was located at North Avenue - Route 64 - at Dunham Road in St. Charles.
I wonder where "Cub Reporter" is now - she's got to be around 43 or 44 years old. Gotta love her Jodie Foster inspired outfit.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursd...
Bert Weinman Ford with Linn Burton (Commercial, 1980)
(reposted separately to make it easier to find)
Here's another classic commercial for Bert Weinman Ford with Linn Burton.
Bert Weinman - Your TV Ford Man - at 3535 N. Ashland Avenue. (Although if Bert Weinman is supposedly my *TV* Ford Man, how come we never see any commercials with him in them? We always see Linn Burton. Was Linn Burton a salesman that worked at Bert Weinman's? I wonder how many people mistook Linn Burton for Bert Weinman?)

GK Chevrolet Of Downers Grove - "General Motors Raises Prices" (Commercial, 1979)
Here's another commercial for GK Chevrolet in Downers Grove. The last time we saw one it had a really bad technical difficulty moment in it.
GK Chevrolet is now Bill Kay Chevrolet - part of the Bill Kay Automotive Group - still at the same place, 1601 Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove - even has the same phone number, except the area code is now 630 of course. :-)
Ending voiceover by J...

Here's a local-themed commercial for the Pontiac Grand Prix, with chauffeur "Roberts" (played by George Womack, who died in 1983 at age 61) driving the car in and around Chicago, and explaining how it looks and drives "like a rich man's car" but doesn't cost like one. Also featuring Dan Henrick as the car's owner. Ends with a shot of the Grand Prix going through one of the Chicago highways and the message: "See the Guys with Pontiaction, and Price Our Grand Prix - Chicagoland and Northern I...
GK Chevrolet Of Downers Grove (Commercial, 1977)
Here's an extremely low budget commercial for GK Chevrolet in Downers Grove. It looks like someone's Super 8 home movies, and it isn't helped by a technical problem with the audio - the announcer keeps cutting out. Then he seems a bit lost. Finally, the last 15 seconds of the live read feature dead air with a clock plaintively ticking in the background.
GK Chevrolet is now Bill Kay Chevrolet - part of the Bill Kay Automotive Group - still at the same place, 1601 Ogden Avenue...
Victory Auto Wreckers - "Car Door Mishap" (Commercial, 1992)
Here's one of (if not the most) famous commercials ever - the Victory Auto Wreckers ad where the car door almost falls on the guy's foot. Contrary to popular belief, this ad originated in May of 1985 - despite the 70s-looking wristband/watch the guy is wearing.
Featuring Bob Zajdel as the hapless car owner and Luis ? as the tow-truck driver, who were both employees at the time.
Also - WGN-TV veteran Bob Kastigar says, "Jeff Glauberg did the original tap...
