Here's something really great - the opening to the very first episode of Son of Svengoolie on WFLD Channel 32. Introduced in voiceover by Jerry G. Bishop (the original Svengoolie, 1970-1973), who passes the "torch" to Rich Koz.

The movie presented was "In the Year 2889". (marked down from $29.95. narf-narf-narf...)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Saturday, June 16th 1979. (at 8pm!)

Here's a rare old promo for Son of Svengoolie episode number 54, showing the movie, "The Creature Walks Among Us". This episode aired on Saturday, July 19th 1980 at 8pm.

Sven mentions one of the sketches on the show, "Marlin Gherkins' Mild Kingdom". (parody of Marlin Perkins on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom)

This must have been soon after they started using the actual Son of Svengoolie theme song (Son's Theme - written by Doug Scharf) instead of the old Jerry G...

Here is a rare clip from Son of Svengoolie featuring members of the Practical Theater, doing a funny commercial for "High & Low Fashion" (or should that be Lowe?).

Not sure of the exact date on this, but judging by Sven's mustache, it's probably from 1983.

This skit was part of MegaFun, which was a show through the Practical Theater that ran at Second City E.T.C. ("experimental theater company") - which was an extension of the original Second City.
