WREX Channel 13 - "The Circus" (Take 2, 1969)

Here's another take of an (evidently lipsynced) performance from a band called "The Circus" - recorded at WREX Channel 13 in Rockford, IL. (Not sure if this ever ran on or was intended to run on WCIU Channel 26 or not.)

This came from the other Quad tape that I found in Jack Mulqueen's basement recently. (Recorded in low band, according to the slate at the opening of this clip - as accompanied by an 800 Hz tone).

I was hoping this tape might have contained an...

WSNS Channel 44 - The Dating Game - "Joey D'Auria" (Part 1, 1980)

What are the odds? Recorded at random and saved without meaning to, here is an episode of The Dating Game on WSNS Channel 44. Cool enough because it has the original commercial breaks intact - however as I was scanning through it I slowly recognized the face - Chicago's Bozo the Clown the Second, Mr. Joey D'Auria was one of the bachelors!

In Part 1, we hear the intro to the show given by host Jim Lange - it's cut off slightly, however from what he says later in the sho...

Here's the opening, preview breaks and ending moments of an episode of the TV series Hunter.

And no, folks, this is not the 1984-91 series on NBC (and thus, seen by Chicagoans on WMAQ Channel 5) with Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer, but a virtually forgotten, short-lived series - "A Lorimar Production" (the company famous at the time for The Waltons and, later, for Dallas and Knots Landing) - that ran on the CBS Network and therefore aired in Chica...

WGN Channel 9 - Bozo's Circus - "Skylab Synchronicity" (1979)

Here's an excerpt of Bozo's Circus on WGN Channel 9, featuring a news bulletin crawled on the lower-third section of the screen during a showing of the Huckleberry Hound cartoon "A Bully Dog" (from Season #2, Episode #5, originally aired on November 2nd 1959).

In another case of synchronicity, a message about the satellite space station Skylab falling back to earth was given during the point in this episode where Huck, playing the role of a messenger boy, attempts to d...
