Star Wars Droid Factory by Kenner (Commercial, 1979)

Here's a commercial for the Star Wars Droid Factory by Kenner. A "non-canon" toy that was a bit of a rare oddity back then since there was no "droid factory" in the original movie. Notable for allowing you to make an R2-D2 that actually looks like R2 (more so than the actual action figure) since it includes Artoo's middle extendable leg.

Voiceover by Norman Rose.

This aired on local Kansas City TV on Saturday, December 29th 1979. (1977 Copyright, Twentiet...

Long Chevrolet - "Extra, Extra!" (Commercial, 1978)

Finally found! One of the original, infamous Long Chevrolet commercials with Timmy the Newsboy shouting "Extra, Extra!" ad infinitum.

There were other variations of this ad - one we know of has Timmy finally getting his just desserts and getting hit with a pie in the kisser!

A transition ad from a month after this one has him being promoted from newsboy to salesman. He was probably getting...

The Koz Zone - "Fuzzy's Letter" (1989)

Here's another one of Fuzzy's early brushes (more like a tickle) with fame - when Rich Koz read my letter on The Koz Zone! It included the mildly humorous limerick that I had written, Fred.

I had a pet weasel named Fred
who liked to ride on my sled
but then one day, a rock got in the way
and that was the end of Fred.

I was also proud of the fact that per my suggestion, Rich re-instituted the "Cards & Letters" theme at the end o...

Here's a commercial for TV Magic Cards, a product created by magician Marshall Brodien (Bozo's Wizzo) who starts off showing one of his tricks, and then describing what the cards are about. This commercial was memorably parodied by Son of Svengoolie as "Real Life Magic".

Here's a commercial for Nylint steel toys, highlighting the sturdiness of their scale model vehicles since 1946. Spotlighted are the Aerial Hook-n-Ladder fire truck (with two auxiliary ladders included) and a pickup truck which also includes scale models of various animals such as cows. Here's a commercial for Kiddieland Amusement Park - gone but not forgotten.

This commercial was produced and directed (and some editing and camera work) by Ken Williamson. The music was written and produced by Sound Images. Ken owned a production company in Cincinnati called The Film House at the time. They specialized in Amusement Park commercials world-wide. (he sold the company in 2000, but is still active in the production business)
