WSNS Channel 44 - everybody's movie - "Holy Matrimony" (Commercial Break, 1976)

Here's something pretty cool and rare - one of the oldest off-air WSNS clips I've ever personally found - a commercial break for the everybody's movie presentation (this was the 70s, hence no need to capitalize) of the 1943 Monty Woolley / Gracie Fields film "Holy Matrimony" on WSNS Channel 44. From what Chris Tufts (Phantom) recalls, this was a short-lived Sunday afternoon movie showcase. Includes:

everybody's movie bumper (anyone know what the music is?)

WKBS Channel 48 - Snipets - "Homework First" (1983)

Not from Chicago, but rather from a sister Field station in Philadelphia - WKBS Channel 48 - that was at the time a few weeks away from leaving the air permanently, a victim of the implosion of Field Communications.

This is an installment of Snipets which we're entitling "Homework First." The later animated Snipets open is used with the worms materializing and ending up inside a circle with the title atop them, and a 1974 copyright date is listed; though credited...

WFLD Channel 32 - Creature Feature - "The Black Cat" (Tiny Opening Excerpt, 1979)

Blink, and you'll miss it!

Here is an extreme rarity - a painfully small excerpt from the opening of WFLD Channel 32's Creature Feature program. This was the program that was replaced by Son of Svengoolie in Summer of 1979.

If you pause the video at the right spot you can see a fairly clear shot of the opening title. You can make out a smokey graveyard type atmosphere with a black crow or raven perched on a tree branch to the right and a coffin in the foregro...

WBBM Channel 2 - So You Think You Know Chicago? (Part 4, 1974)

This clip made possible by the donations from our generous group of "Fuzzketeers" during the Spring 2012 Tape Transfer Fundraiser.

Here's Part 4 of a special called So You Think You Know Chicago? on WBBM Channel 2. This was the third broadcast in a continuing series of shows called Chicago Alive. The hosts were legendary anchors Bill Kurtis and Walter Jacobson, and...

WFLD Channel 32 - Creature Feature - "The Black Cat" (Bumper Excerpt, 1979)

Blink, and you'll miss it! (especially this time)

Here is an extreme rarity - a painfully small microblip from a commercial break bumper of WFLD Channel 32's Creature Feature program. This was the program that was replaced by Son of Svengoolie in Summer of 1979. That would date this clip to at least before that time.

If you pause the video at about 10 seconds in you can see a fairly clear frame of the commercial bumper. In this one you can again make out a sm...

WFLD Channel 32 - Son of Svengoolie - "Beyond the Time Barrier" (Break #5, 1986)

Here's the fifth (and final) commercial break for the Son Of Svengoolie presentation (Show #333) of the 1960 film "Beyond the Time Barrier" on WFLD Channel 32. Includes:

Voice of Jim Barton explaining to Sven (Rich Koz) that what was affecting the main character was the same as happened to him after Christmas shopping

Commercial - Ray Hara's King Datsun, 6200 West Touhy, Niles - with low offers on Sentra, Stanza and Maxima - "Forget List Prices, Make the ...

WFLD Channel 32 - Son Of Svengoolie - "The Worst Of Svengoolie" (Part 1, 1983)

Here's Part 1 of a Son of Svengoolie Special - "The Worst of Svengoolie" featuring Jonathan Brandmeier ("Johnny B") who had recently joined WLUP FM 98 - The Loop.

This part features Sven and Doug singing "Trick or Treatment" (parody of "Shock Treatment"?) and The Worst Performances with scenes from "Curse of the Swamp Creature", "I Was a Teenage Frankenstein", "Zontar: Thing From Venus", "Supersonic Man", "The Eye Creatures", "Beast With a Million Eyes", "Star Odyssey", and "...

WGN Channel 9 - Family Theatre - "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" (Opening, 1972)

The transfer of this video clip made possible by your generous donations!

Here's something incredibly rare (tape-tracking problems notwithstanding) - another local movie show opening yanked from the dustbin of TV history! Tracking is kind of rough, but here is the opening of the Family Theatre presentation of "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" on WGN Channel 9. We see a dancing man with a hat and cane, who eventually gets yanked by the hook, as in the vaudeville days...

Gigglesnort Hotel (Ending)

Here is the closing from one of the best and most remembered Chicago children's shows (although it was eventually syndicated to other markets) - Gigglesnort Hotel.

Even though it was seen for many years after it was produced, the show was only in production for 3 years - 1975, 1976, and 1977. In Chicago, it aired on Sunday mornings on WLS Channel 7.
