WFLD Channel 32 - The Most Important Person - "Why Not Try?" (1980)

Here's an example of the kids' interstitial cartoon, "The Most Important Person" airing on WFLD Channel 32. This one - "Why Not Try?", occured as a special time-filling "bonus" at the end of an episode of Lost in Space. Notice that there are no superimposed titles in the opening credits stating the episode name as there are in other existing film copies that came from school library collections. (Color is also a lot ...

This aired on local Rockford, IL TV on Tuesday, January 10th 1978 at a little before 10pm! (not Chicago, but close enough)

WFLD Channel 32 - Keyfax Nite-Owl Service - "Premiere" (Promo, 1981)

Woo-hoo! The first new Nite-Owl footage found in over 10 years. This appears to be a promo for it's premiere airing that very night on WFLD Channel 32.

Voiceover by Jim Barton.

WGN Channel 9 - Garfield Goose and Friends - "Mama Goose & Cornhusk Dolls" (1974)

Here's one of only a few existing Garfield Goose and Friends segments, this one featuring a visit from Mama Goose as well as Hobby Corner with Amy Simon and her cornhusk dolls. All the cartoon and non-studio segments have been removed. (I assume this wasn't from an off-air recording)

Has anyone tried to track down Ms. Amy Simon who lived on Wesley Avenue in Evanston, IL who has 1 sister (now around 48 years old) and 1 brother (now around 46 years old)? Amy herself would be a...

Snipets - "Skateboard Safety Rules" (1980)

Here is another rare Snipets segment! These would air on Field Communications stations such as WFLD Channel 32 in the 70's and 80's.

This one is a bit fuzzy, but it's the best we have so far. This one also features the older "patchwork" logo of Snipets as well as a different group of kids saying "Snipets!". There is also a voiceover at the end which sounds like George Takei - "Snipets are produced by Field Communications". This voiceover was dropped when the "worms" version to...

FYI - "Take A Break From Baby" (1981)

Here is another of the daytime interstitial features that ABC ran during the early eighties between Daytime Soaps - FYI - For Your Information - hosted by Mr. Barney Miller himself, Hal Linden.

For this one I thought I'd leave in the last part of the ending credits of the soap that preceded FYI - Ryan's Hope, with announcer tease.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, September 24th 1981 @ a little bit before 12 Noon! (Airing on WFLD at that time? Underdog!)
