WFLD Channel 32 - Son of Svengoolie - "Solid Mold" (Excerpt, 1982)

Here's an excerpt from Son of Svengoolie on WFLD Channel 32, with the recording coming in somewhere after the start of a sketch called "Solid Mold" (a spoof of the syndicated series Solid Gold). Here, Rich Koz reprises his most famous parody - that of Mister Rogers, here singing some current hits of the day while accompanied on the piano by Doug Graves (Doug Scharf).

This clip comes in during the middle of Mister Rogers performing a version of Chicago's "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" (which was their comeback hit in 1982). Next are two people (show staffers Susan Uyeda and ??) moving around in a parody of the "Solid Gold Dancers" (such as it is) to a cover of The Go-Go's "Vacation" (#2), then at the onset of a rendition of John Cougar's "Hurts So Good" (#1) there is a camera shot of the same dancers that is shown upside-down.

At the end, the voiceover (Mr. Koz) promises on next week's edition, guest singer Big Bird performing Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven," to the sound of responding groans.

This aired on local Chicago TV sometime in 1982. (I would guess)
