WKBS Channel 48 - Snipets - "Policeman" (1983)
From within the last few weeks of the existence of Field Communications' Philadelphia, PA station, WKBS Channel 48, here's another Snipets segment, "Policeman," which aired within a rerun of The Flintstones.
Beginning with the "worms" opening (and 1977 copyright date), we see patrolman Dave Jones describing his typical day, accompanied by pertinent footage: going to work at any time of the day, changing to his police uniform at the station, reading daily bulletins of latest crimes, attending a lieutenant's briefing along with other officers, keeping all the information in mind while on his beat, patrolling the street for such things as investigation potential trouble and not just making arrests, giving CPR to people in cardiac arrest, and getting to know people in the community he patrols (which he considers an important part of his job). Shots of him conversing with storekeepers and neighborhood children are also shown.
As with all segments that aired on Field stations, the "Produced By Field Communications" bumper brings this to an end. (voiceover by ?? - still have no idea who this is)
"It's part of my job."
This aired on local Philadelphia TV on Wednesday, July 13th 1983 during the 5:00pm to 5:30pm (Eastern) timeframe.

For some reason, this patrolman's voice reminds me of that of a mail person who once delivered mail to my house for many years, before being assigned to another route elsewhere in Manhattan. Can anyone say for sure, based on some of the buildings, where this cop was based?

Weren't most of these filmed in San Francisco? The firefighter one was for sure.
