WKBS Channel 48 - Snipets - "The Body Machine" (1983)
From another airing of a Flintstones rerun on the late, lamented WKBS Channel 48 in Philadelphia, PA, here is a segment of Snipets which we've entitled "The Body Machine."
With the beginning "worms" opening leading the way (and 1977 copyright date), we start off with a shot of a pre-teen boy running in slow motion as the narrator shows how the human body is like a machine, and as such has to be checked every now and then. Most of this segment takes place during a physical at a doctor's office where a stethoscope is used to check his heartbeat, an opthalmoscope for his eyes, an otoscope for his ears, a reflector over the doctor's forehead to check his nose and throat, a blood pressure monitor, and a percussion hammer to check for reflexes. The doctor then shows her hands - "the most useful tools" in the body machine.
Ending consists of the "Produced by Field Communications" bumper. (voiceover by ?? - still have no idea who this is)
Main voiceover by ??
This aired on local Philadelphia TV on Tuesday, July 12th 1983 during the 5:00pm to 5:30pm (Eastern) timeframe. (during the last few weeks of the station's existence)
