This ad ran for years 1977-1980's!
It even appeared as a TV Land Retromercial.
You can even get this commercial on a DVD called "Sold Seperately: Classic Kids Commercials" which you can order via web sites that sell DVD's.

My version of Connect Four had a slide release on the bottom instead of a hinge that dropped down.

That hinge rocks forward and back, it does not drop down. I still have my Connect Four from that era.
