Well, here it is - the opening to The 3:30 Movie on WLS Channel 7!! The movie was "Jason and the Argonauts" - unfortunately the beginning of the film cuts off the last couple seconds of the theme song - which you can hear in the bumpers, which I will post.

Funny, but I've seen these graphics elsewhere - they were also used for the same era's The Late Movie on WLS - except of course for the title change, everything else was the same - same swirling star graphics, same music too. Oh well. Anticlimactic? You decide. ;-)

And (another mystery solved!) for those wondering what was the theme music for this "swirling star" open (which, needless to say, was NOT the same theme as that used for years by The 4:30 Movie on sister station WABC Channel 7 in New York) - it was called "Flight to the World," by Sven Libaek and His Orchestra, from the 1970 library disc album My Thing (Peer International Library Limited P.I.L. 9006). Thanks to YouTuber TServo2049 for the tip, and our own W.B. for the assist! :-)

Includes a quick Station ID slide and PSA voiceover by Al Parker at the beginning.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, December 27th 1978.
