Here's Part 6 of the (mostly complete) 1985 Chicago Emmy Awards broadcast.

This part features a musical salute to prime-time television by the Dick Marx Orchestra (Dynasty, Hill Street Blues, and Dallas), Mary Ann Childers, Rich Koz (with a Warren Freiberg reference to this event from the previous month), Irv Kupcinet, another Frank Chambers reference as producer of The Bob Lewandowski Show, Susan Boller, Dave Saint, [another edit in the recording], Pam Zekman, Linda Yu, Don Craig, and Walter Jacobson [yet another edit in the recording].

As can be gauged from what's on this recording, Mr. Kupcinet and producer Todd Whitman won in the "Informational Programming - Conversation Program Series" category for Kup's Show on WTTW Channel 11, and Ms. Boller and Mr. Saint (and producers Donna Harris and Paul Rothman) won in the "Informational Programming - Magazine Program Series" category for PM Magazine: Chicago on WFLD Channel 32. The tape then cut to Ms. Zekman as she ended her acceptance speech (she and producers Andy Segal, Sandy Bergo and Jack Murphy won in the "Investigative Reporting" category for "Churn and Burn" which aired on WBBM Channel 2). Mr. Craig, flanked by Mr. Jacobson and other members of the Channel 2 News team, won in the "News Program - Spot Coverage" category for "Ben Wilson's Death" which aired on WBBM Channel 2. The tape cut out in the middle of the "News Program - Feature Stories or Mini-Series" category nomination listing (only going so far as to naming the nominees: "Tragedy in San Juanico, Mexico," WCIU Channel 26 - Jorge Barbosa, reporter and Don Aguirre, producer; "Prostitution: No Quick Fix," WGN Channel 9 - Steve Sanders, reporter, and Jim Whitty and Martha Jones, producers; "Sold on Sweat," WGN Channel 9 - Robert Jordan, reporter and Mary Boylan, producer; "Doctor's Emergency Officenters," WMAQ Channel 5 - Paul Hogan, reporter, and Doug Longhini, M.J.(?) Witt and Bruce Rheins, producers; "No Police Available," WMAQ Channel 5 - Peter Karl, reporter and Doug Longhini, producer; and "Crisis at County Hospital," WBBM Channel 2 - Pam Zekman, reporter, and Andy Segal and Sandy Bergo, producers - tape cuts off as "Kup" mentions the last name - the winner, which unfortunately is not on this tape, was "No Police Available," so we don't know who took the stage to accept).

Another category that apparently was edited out entirely was "Planned Coverage of a Single Event"; the winner was "In Other Words: 1984" which aired on WBBM Channel 2 (Phil Walters, reporter; Ruth Fitzpatrick, producer).

Commercial: Ending of Dean Witter commercial
Commercial: Beef Industry Council - "Beef Gives Strength"
Commercial: Country Companies Insurance
Commercial: Accountemps (ending voiceover by Jerry Harper)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 3rd 1985 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm period.
