Road Music - 24 Truckin' Greats (Record Offer, 1979)
Here's a (mostly complete - missing the first 5 seconds or so) record offer for Road Music - 24 Truckin' Greats by Lakeshore Music. Featuring disc jockey Charlie Douglas.
Here's a mini-bio on Charlie Douglas courtesy of VirtualTruckRoute.com - "Inducted into the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame in 1994, the father of overnight trucking radio began his broadcasting career four decades earlier at KLIC in Monroe, LA. In 1970, Charlie Douglas and His Road Gang beamed to truckers nationwide over WWL in New Orleans, LA. Then, in 1983, Charlie moved to Nashville to replace Chuck Morgan as host of Music Country Radio. In 1995, he left WSM to operate Compact Disk Xpress."
The guy who recorded this (bless his heart) cut all the commercials out of Make Me Laugh and The Gong Show, except for this one - so at least he knew quality. :-)
I think "Truckin' Great..." is going to be my catchphrase this week.
This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, March 9th 1979.
