Here's a "research reel" from Midocean Motion Pictures, a production and graphics house that handled commercials.

This came from a 3/4" Umatic tape that was kept by Cathy Mustari, art director for WFLD Channel 32 from 1974 to the late '80's, from a time when the station was actively shopping for production houses to handle their graphics for opens/closes, bumpers, promos, etc.

Includes:

- Midocean Motion Pictures - Research Reel title card

- Photo of an outdoor pool area (with a woman reclining on a chair and a man standing) whose image is zoomed out by each channel (red, green, blue)

- A water drop, followed by a man and a woman embracing, another water drop, and another man and woman (this appeared to come from a perfume or fragrance commercial)

- Green graphics on black background for Kelly Voyager tires

- Layout of hexagon pattern in motion

- Shots of the sun, waves, volcanoes, mountains, plants, and other scenes of nature highly processed - followed by animation of the evolution of man

- Animated street scene of crowds walking by - done in a style of rapidly dissolving stills that would be highly popular in the late 1970's through the mid-'80's

- Scene from another animated short of a woman going to bed, followed by multiple silhouettes of a window

- Animated look from what appears to be a keyhole towards an ocean at sunset, with one revealing a human face

- Another "dissolve still" animation starting off with people entering and leaving Sardi's restaurant in midtown Manhattan, followed by an inside shot from behind a cash register, ending with a closeup of a man eating a hot dog (this appears to have been used on Saturday Night Live in the 1978-79 season)

- Shot of a man at a desk, zooming towards his head and dissolving to animation of small computer processing various business costs, ending with Bell System logo - "The Knowledge Business"

- Animation of various colored mathematical symbols moving around into space, followed by layout of computer chips and wide screen computer terminal with Bell System logo on the screen

This obviously did not air anywhere, but it was produced in or around 1979.
