Here's the opening few minutes of the Channel 5 News on WMAQ Channel 5, which aired immediately following the airing of the Kennedy mini-series for that night (and on WLS, The Day After telefilm) Includes:

WMAQ-TV Chicago Station ID Slide & PSA Voiceover Promo (by Jim Hill)

Newscast oddly begins with no opening sequence (perhaps due to Kennedy running long?) and then anchor Deborah Norville introduces the top story: Mayor Harold Washington calling for an investigation of charges that 10th Ward Alderman/Cook County Democratic Chairman Edward Vrdolyak agreed to help Reagan re-election campaign out of anger with national Democratic Party. Features comments from Jim Thompson, and George Dunne - Cook County Board President. (reported by Otis Buchanan)

Video clip of Mayor Washington explaining why Cook County Democratic Central Committee should investigate Vrdolyak.

Police search in Des Moines, IA suburb of Pleasant Hills for two missing teenaged boys believed killed in dynamite blast (tape cuts out in middle of report)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, November 20th 1983.
