Here's the opening and first commercial break from a repeat of the M*A*S*H episode "Operation Friendship" on WFLD Channel 32. Includes:

WFLD Benny Hill promo and Station ID (voiceover by Jim Barton)

M*A*S*H opening titles (from the 1980-81 season)

Commercial: Jewel grocery stores ("Friend of the Family for 50 Years")

Commercial: WFYR 103 1/2 FM - "Great Oldies . . . and More!" (people singing along to various oldies, in different situations at work, in the car, in the shower - a similar ad campaign along these lines was done around this time for WCBS-FM 101 in New York; one of the people in this ad, Yvette Edelhart - the one driving the car in the background as a man driving the car in front was singing to Simon & Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson" - was spotlighted in a PM Magazine profile on local commercial stars the day after this screening)

Commercial: Greyhound Buses - 2 for 1 Sale (ends June 14th)

Commercial: Commonwealth Edison Speakers Bureau - "Energy experts who will talk to any group in Northern Illinois - and talk facts, not opinions". (voiceover by ??)

WFLD M*A*S*H bumper (with end of a "jazzy" rendition by a heretofore unknown artist of "Song from M*A*S*H" a.k.a. "Suicide Is Painless"; the truncated version as seen here)

Opening moments of first act of "Taking the Fifth" episode (originally aired on CBS Network on January 19th 1981)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Wednesday, May 12th 1982 at 10pm.
