WFLD Channel 32 - Son Of Svengoolie - "Attack Of The Mushroom People" - Bobby Skafish (Break #1, 1983)
A true fuzzy memory (since the reception was pretty bad) - here's Commercial Break #1 from the Son of Svengoolie presentation of "Attack of the Mushroom People" on WFLD Channel 32, which features Chicago Radio DJ Bobby Skafish (doing his best Mick Jagger impersonation - well, physically - not vocally) and "The Not-Ready-For-VHF Blues Band" performing his singing tribute to Sven. (the song Bobby sings is a parody of the old blues song "The Seventh Son" by Willie Dixon)
Bobby Skafish was with WDRV 97.1 FM - The Drive and WXRT 93.1 FM prior to that.
Cicero/Berwyn alumni will enjoy seeing a shot of the old Berwyn theatre marquee at about 2:04. :-)
Trivia Note: Bobby Skafish is the cousin of local punk rock pioneer Jim Skafish, seen here in this clip from a 1991 episode of Wild Chicago.
