Here's the good news - someone recorded The Ray Rayner Show at various times in the early seventies! Now the bad news - they only recorded the cartoons, and cut out nearly everything else. :-( I bring you the only snippets left - a few excerpts of the clock that they would show the time on, and in some cases, the chalkboard with the date, weather, and sports scores. Some might wonder why these excerpts would be worth preserving here, but there is such a small amount of Ray Rayner that has survived, we have to be grateful even for small scraps. And at least we get to see the evolution of the clocks that they used throughout the years. From these clips we can see that there were at least two different ones used; with the sun "starburst" motif surrounding the early ones, and the last one using an "Alarm Clock" style. They would continue to use the Alarm Clock style until the end of the program in January 1981.

Notice, the "Alarm Clock"-motif they are using has a second hand and has words on the bottom portion of the face - the same one they were using in the "1974-era" clips.

Also - I left in the complete opening for "Wacky Wildlife" - notice the voiceover giving the title of the cartoon. I don't remember them doing this, and it's certainly not on the beginning of any of the other cartoons - what's the deal?

"Wouldn't you rather be in bed?"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, December 18th 1975 at 7:04am, 7:12am, 7:27am, 8:07am, 8:26am. (There is also a 7:07am clock - this predates 12-18-75 - possibly from the same week?)
