Here's the good news - someone recorded The Ray Rayner Show at various times in the early seventies! Now the bad news - they only recorded the cartoons, and cut out nearly everything else. :-( I bring you the only snippets left - a few excerpts of the clock that they would show the time on, and in some cases, the chalkboard with the date, weather, and sports scores. Some might wonder why these excerpts would be worth preserving here, but there is such a small amount of Ray Rayner that has survived, we have to be grateful even for small scraps. And at least we get to see the evolution of the clocks that they used throughout the years. From these clips we can see that there were at least two different ones used; with the sun "starburst" motif surrounding the early ones, and the last one using an "Alarm Clock" style. They would continue to use the Alarm Clock style until the end of the program in January 1981.

Note: This was originally broadcast in color, but captured on this early home videotape recording in black and white.

We see: 8:10am, 8:27am, 7:13am, 8:03am, 8:25am, 7:12am, 7:46am, 8:28am, 7:38am, 8:13am, and 7:17am.

Since these excerpts didn't show the chalkboard, we are left to speculate as to a date - I am going to guess 1974. Notice, they are using a different clock than in the 1971-era clips. (no second hand, and words on bottom of clock)
