Here's Part 3 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features Jorie Lueloff, Bill Kurtis, Brian Boyer, Rose Economou, Gary Ride(sp?), Wanda Wells, Jim Hatfield, Scott Craig and Charles Olin. A lower-third station ID is shown at the start of this clip.

Mr. Kurtis and producers Mr. Boyer and Ms. Economou won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for a News Special" for "Agent Orange - Vietnam's Deadly Fog" on WBBM Channel 2; they are joined on stage by editor Gary Ride(sp?). A clip of this special is then aired, with Mr. Kurtis' opening narration and the opening title shown.

Mr. Hatfield and Mr. Craig won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Documentary Programs: Documentary of Current Significance" [3(A)] for "A Matter of Policy" on WBBM Channel 2 which they co-produced; a brief shot of Mort Crim who hosted the documentary is shown from within the assembled audience as the co-producers give their thanks. Clips of this documentary, which dealt with insurance industry redlining policies, are then shown.

Mr. Olin won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Documentary Programs: Documentary of Cultural Significance" [3(B)] for his role as producer of "A Palette of Glass" on WBBM Channel 2. Clips of this documentary, which was about Marc Chagall and his techniques for cutting glass, are then shown.

Commercial: Chicagoland Oldsmobile Dealers - "The Gallant Men of Olds" - with complete jingle and song lyrics - "We Make Car Buying a Pleasure Again"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
