Here's Part 4 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features Don Craig, Naurice Roberts, Harry Porterfield, Gail Sikevitz and Jim Ruddle, photos of Clifton and Frayn Utley, Burr Tillstrom, Fran Allison, "Kukla" and "Ollie," and archive footage of Dave Garroway, Wayne King, Johnny Erp, Fred Thomas, Keith Klein, Jane Pauley, and Floyd Kalber.

Mr. Porter and producer Ms. Sikevitz won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Informational Programming: For a Public Affairs Series" [4(A)] for Channel 2: The People on WBBM Channel 2. A segment from this show is aired, with a shot of the Mary McDonald family at the breakfast table.

Mr. Newhart recaps the history of the Chicago stations as of 20 years prior, with then-WNBQ Channel 5 boasting the likes of Alex Dreier, Clifton Utley, Len O'Connor and Clint Youle, and network offerings such as Father Knows Best, The Bob Cummings Show and Dragnet; this leads to a history of Channel 5 as recounted by Jim Ruddle, with references to early shows like Vic & Sade and These Are My Children, and an RCA TK-41 camera in a corner of the studio; clips of early shows like Hawkins Falls, Garroway at Large with Dave Garroway, The Wayne King Show, Ding Dong School with Dr. Frances Horwich, are aired. Mr. Ruddle recounts other shows that originated from Channel 5 over the years such as Kukla, Fran & Ollie, Club 60 and It's Academic, and its long history of news starting with Clifton Utley and his wife Frayn, and mentioning such other names as Johnny Erp, Fred Thomas, Keith Klein, Jane Pauley, and Floyd Kalber; the retrospective closes with an old film clip of Faye Emerson with Mr. Garroway and the late 1940's NBC logo with "chimes."

Next, Bob does a brief telephone routine of the type that first made him famous, envisioning a conversation between President Abraham Lincoln and a public-relations aide at Gettysburg, PA in 1863.

Commercial: Tab Cola - "One Calorie - Beautiful" - with jingle reminiscent of Orleans' "Still the One"

Commercial: Blue Cross/Blue Shield - "People You Can Count On When It Counts"

Commercial: Chicago Health & Racquetball Club - 6 Month Membership Program for an average 78 cents a day - "Spring for Your Summer Before Summer Springs on You"

Commercial: New Nabisco Premium Saltines in 4 Recloseable Plastic Bags - "Keeps the Dampness Out and the Crunch In"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
