Here's Part 6 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features Terry Murphy, Norman Mark, WLS Channel 7 News Director Jim McFarland(sp?), David Finney and Bob Wallace.

Mr. McFarland(sp?) accepted on behalf of Bill Jackson who won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Children's Programming: For a Series" [5(A)] as host and producer of Gigglesnort Hotel (which was referred to as B.J.'s Gigglesnort Hotel) on WLS Channel 7. No clips from this series are shown.

Mr. Wallace and Mr. Finney won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Children's Programming: For a Single Program" [5(B)] as host and producer, respectively, of A New Salem Christmas on WBBM Channel 2. A segment of this program is then shown.

Commercial: True Value Hardware Stores - with Lee Phillip and Pat Summerall (second airing of this commercial)

Commercial: Bell System - "Long Distance Is the Next Best Thing to Being (Over) There" - American girl abroad in Europe is on the phone with her father

Commercial: Weight Watchers Recipe Cards at Jewel Stores - $1.49 per deck, 12 decks in all

Commercial: United Airlines - Round Trip to Los Angeles - as low as $165 - "United We Fly" (jingle based on the 1970 Brotherhood of Man hit "United We Stand") - "Fly the Friendly Skies"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
