Here's Part 7 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features Walter Jacobson, Mort Crim, William J. Norris, Bert Berdis, Norma Quarles, Renee Ferguson, John Kennamer, Cal Langenberg, and the voice of Mal Wyman.

Mr. Jacobson announces the winners of the category of "Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence: For Performers Who Appear on Camera" [10(A)]; the winners who appeared on camera were Mr. Crim (as reporter/narrator of A Matter of Policy on WBBM Channel 2), Mr. Norris (as performer on The Joseph Jefferson Awards on WBBM Channel 2), Mr. Berdis (as a performer on The Joseph Jefferson Awards on WBBM Channel 2), and Norma Quarles (as reporter on Urban Journal on WMAQ Channel 5). Mr. Berdis' performing partner, Dick Orkin, and WTTW Channel 11's Marty Robinson who won in this category as narrator of Treasures of Tutankhamun, did not attend.

Next comes the winners in the category of "Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence: For Individual Excellence of Persons Whose Achievement Is Non-Performing" [10(B)]: Ms. Ferguson (as writer/reporter of Waller High School on WBBM Channel 2), Mr. Kennamer (as audio engineer for Hansel and Gretel on WTTW Channel 11), and Mr. Langenberg (as cinematographer on Treasures of Tutankhamun on WTTW Channel 11).

Mr. Newhart then introduces a retrospective of the city's eighth television station, WSNS Channel 44, narrated by off-camera voiceover Mal Wyman, with a clip of their early "Instant News" format and photos of numerous station personalities including General Manager Edward L. Morris who turned the station around beginning in 1972; video clips of games from the Chicago Bulls, Purdue, IN and DePauw University (basketball), Cougars (hockey), White Sox (baseball), college football, boxing, tennis, soccer, bowling, and even The Outdoor Sportsman are shown.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
