Here's Part 10 of the Twentieth Annual Chicago Emmy Awards on WBBM Channel 2, hosted by Bob Newhart.

This part features John Drury, Joan McGrath, Elayne Goldstein, Patterson Denny, Thea Flaum, Gene Siskel, and footage of Linda Winer.

Mr. Denny and Ms. Goldstein won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Entertainment Programs: For a Series" [7(B)] as co-producers of Made in Chicago on WTTW Channel 11. A clip of this show, featuring Linda Winer, then arts critic of the Chicago Tribune (and who, for many years starting in the late 1980's, was drama critic for New York Newsday), is then shown. Norm Cherry, WCIU director, is nominated for Polka Party but does not win unfortunately.

Mr. Siskel and Ms. Flaum won in the category of "Outstanding Achievements for Entertainment Programs: For a Single Special Program" [7(C)] as host and producer, respectively, of NightWatch on WTTW Channel 11. (And to think he was only known for his long on-air partnership with Roger Ebert on Sneak Previews and all that came after.) A clip of this rare program from Mr. Siskel's long TV career is then shown.

Commercial: Illinois State Lottery - The Three of a Kind Game (third airing)

Commercial: True Value Hardware Stores - Two Ways to Easier and Better Lawn Care with Jacobsen lawn mowers - 21" Super Bagger with 3 bushel bag and 20" Self-Propelled Mulcher with twin blades (voiceover by Pat Summerall)

Commercial: Coca-Cola - "Coke Adds Life" - with couple jogging into the diner (different from earlier commercial, but set in the same diner)

Commercial: Kleenex Huggies Disposable Baby Diapers - "They Help Stop Leaking" (voiceover by John Bartholomew Tucker)

This aired on local Chicago TV on Monday, June 5th 1978 during the 8:30pm to 10:30pm timeframe. (the show ran over the allotted 2 hours - not sure how much though)
