Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.

This segment (#1-4) is from Show #61 (according to the clapboard), with guest Larry "Superjock" Lujack. The recording date was April 11th 1973.

This segment is called "The Galloping Goolmet," a takeoff on Graham Kerr's "The Galloping Gourmet." Svengoolie, who introduces himself as "the man with the Hollandaises in his hair and chopped liver in his Cheerios," has a recipe for "that all-time American classic dish" - banana eel and sardine-stuffed prune mustard surprise with creamy Marfak chocolate sauce - which he describes as "perfect for entertaining those last-minute unexpected guests, like the night your lummox husband brought the Green Bay Packers home for dinner." The recipe involves putting one banana peel onto another banana and pouring mustard onto the peel, and putting sardines into prunes; at one point Svengoolie mentions Phil Silvers (of Sergeant Bilko fame) as "the second banana." As Svengoolie uses a rolling pin, the announcer mentions "The Galloping Ghoulmet" will return after the movie and says, "He'd finish it now, but I think I'm gonna be sick."

According to the TV listings, the two movies shown on this edition were "The Invisible Dr. Mabuse" (1962) and "The Screaming Skull" (1958), so it's possible this break aired during the former (#1-4 would indicate this was Movie #1, Break #4).

Directed by Ray Barnas.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 13th 1973.
