Here's another segment from Screaming Yellow Theater - the original Svengoolie, which aired on WFLD Channel 32 from 1970-1973. Svengoolie was played by Jerry G. Bishop. By this point, if the clapboard is of any indication, the SYT title had been eschewed in favor of Svengoolie.

This segment (#1-5) is from Show #61 (according to the clapboard), with guest Larry "Superjock" Lujack. The recording date was April 11th 1973.

This segment is a continuation of "The Galloping Goolmet" which began in Segment #1-4. Svengoolie goes to the next two steps of his recipe for banana eel and sardine-stuffed prune mustard surprise with creamy MarFact(sp?) chocolate sauce. One step is putting a pre-soaked banana in crushed jalapeno sauce, and then cutting the banana and putting it into a tray; another involves the making of the chocolate sauce; and Svengoolie finishes the making of this dish by sprinkling with diced eel, to be cooked at 250 degrees in a Westinghouse dryer. (Don't try this at home, folks.) One of the horn sounds seems to have come from Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass' "Tijuana Taxi." The recipe is such a disaster that Svengoolie announces next week's recipe to be for "a glass of cold milk."

According to the TV listings, the two movies shown on this edition were "The Invisible Dr. Mabuse" (1962) and "The Screaming Skull" (1958), so it's possible this break aired during the former (#1-5 would indicate this was Movie #1, Break #5).

Directed by Ray Barnas.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Friday, April 13th 1973.
