- Film highlights of Western Illinois/Northern Illinois game (Western Illinois won, 30-27)
- Basketball scores, including Chicago Bulls beating Cleveland Cavaliers, 105-94
- Hockey scores, including Chicago Black Hawks losing to Minnesota North Stars, 5-4, and Chicago Cougars (of the World Hockey Association) beating Cleveland Crusaders, 7-4
- In golf, Ben Crenshaw has 1-shot, 3rd-round lead in Texas Open
- In baseball, Bud Harrelson of the New York Mets and Pete Rose of the Cincinnati Reds are fined $250 each for their roles in inciting a riot during Game 3 of the Mets/Reds NLCS playoffs on October 8th (an incident that was cited in Bruce Nash and Allan Zullo's 1986 book "The Baseball Hall of Shame 2" in the category "Take Me Out to the Brawl Game: The Most Flagrant Cases of Assault and Battery on the Field")
Bruce concludes by noting he's off to Detroit to cover the Lions' upcoming match against the San Francisco 49ers (the Lions won, 30-20), and Bob says good night with some Spanish mixed in
