Here's a promo for The Hollywood Squares on WGN Channel 9 which had some audio difficulty, followed by a bumper for The Morning Movie and the opening titles for a WGN Editorial. Includes:

Paul Lynde
Robert Urich
Isabel Sanford
Herve Villechaize

Loni Anderson
Erik Estrada

"WGN 9" title card
Linda Lavin

Martin Mull
Lily Tomlin
Mel Brooks
Alice Cooper
Hal Linden and James Gregory
Dick Van Patten
George Gobel
Robert Mandan and Robert Guillaume
Cathryn Damon and Richard Mulligan

Burt Reynolds
Bernadette Peters
Ed Asner
John Davidson (who later hosted the late 1980s incarnation)
David Brenner
Cher
Paul Lynde (again)
Rock Hudson
Joyce DeWitt
John Ritter
Suzanne Somers

10 seconds into the clip (as Mr. Weaver is seen), a faint tone of slightly over 1 kHz is heard, and remains audible for the next 40 seconds, spilling over into The Morning Movie bumper. At first I thought maybe this was a misplaced EBS test tone, but it doesn't really sound like it - not the right frequency. Any ideas what happened here?

After the tone ends, we join Len Johnson's voiceover already in progress, as he previews the next film to be shown on The Morning Movie, "Raw Deal.", followed by a WGN Editorial bumper introduction.

This aired on local Chicago TV on Tuesday, October 28th 1980.
