Here's an edition of Eyewitness AM News on WLS Channel 7 that aired within Good Morning America. The anchor of this edition was Jim Gibbons, and the items are as follows:

- A Melrose Park couple, Gloria and Gerald McCord, serving the first day of a 3-year prison sentence for child abuse, after fleeing for Canada following their conviction on five counts of child cruelty
- Five people released from hospital after being injured during a special performance (for "11th Ward Family Night") at Ringling Brothers - Barnum & Bailey Circus, after an elephant stumbled and threw people standing near him into a panic; a video clip of Vivian Rosenberg speaking with policeman Ray Vacary who witnessed the incident is shown; Mayor and Mrs. Bilandic were also among the spectators
- At least 12 bilingual teachers in city can't speak fluent English, according to Chicago school board member Mrs. Catherine Roeder (sp?) during a meeting on how to use Federal grant money for city's bilingual school program
Jim then recaps John Coleman's weather forecast for the day, finishing off with temperatures at Midway Airport, O'Hare Field and the Lake Front, and signaling a return to GMA.
