Here's a promo for WFLD Channel 32's afternoon cartoon lineup (not yet christened "Afternoon Fun"?)

Featured cartoon series shown in this promo that is set to start on September 4th are Magilla Gorilla (at 2:30pm), Casper (at 3pm), Woody Woodpecker (at 3:30pm), and Tom & Jerry (at 4pm).

We see, from a brief shot at the start, that this spot (labeled "PM Cartoon Cluster Promo" and assigned production number 8884) was directed by veteran WFLD director Don Shannon on 8-17-78. Despite the tiny Kaiser-era "32" logo that can be seen on the production slate, this promo was one of the first to feature the newer Field-era "32" logo with the typesetting in Eremitage.

Listen to the background music - sounds like a funky Jazz-Reggae joint. (or would that be Reggae-Jazz?)

    Voiceover by Dr. Don.

This aired on local Chicago TV in August of 1978.
