WFLD Channel 32 - Super Cartoon Sunrise - "Hot Fudge / Brady Kids Variation" (Opening, 1982)

Here's one more opening for Super Cartoon Sunrise on WFLD Channel 32, which was saved on 16mm film. The lineup consists here of Hot Fudge, Magilla Gorilla, Brady Kids, Woody Woodpecker, and Popeye.

The theme song used is a jazzy, funky, disco-fied instrumental version of "Hail, Hail, The Gang's All Here." (anyone know where it came from or who played on it?)

Since the other openings were made there, we can assume this film was produced for WFLD by Chicago-based Ritter-Waxberg Animation on 6-17-82. (The company that did Super Cartoon Sunrise?!?! Finally revealed? Now we have to track them down!)

The opening is preceded by a Kodak color control patch and gray scale.

MODIFICATION NOTICE: I always state when something has been modified, so as not to disrupt the purity of your fuzzy experience. ;-) This was originally a silent 16mm film, so I had to add the sound manually. I actually spent quite a while making sure it was synchronized correctly. I used the audio track from this clip which did include the sound originally since it was from a Umatic tape. I had to edit in an extra part to the theme song because of the longer show lineup. It's not 100% correct - actually there is another piece of the theme song that should go in the extra spot but I don't have a clean (no voiceover) copy of it with which to use. So I just repeated an earlier segment of the theme.

Obviously, also conspicuously missing from what you would actually hear on the air is Dr. Don Rose's wacky voiceover.

Artwork by Cathy Mustari, WFLD Channel 32's art director from 1974 until the late-eighties.

This aired on local Chicago TV for a period around Summer 1982. (perhaps Phantom can elaborate?)
