WLS Channel 7 - The 3:00 Movie - "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" (Opening, 1981)
Here's the opening moments for The 3:00 Movie presentation of the 1966 Elvis Presley film "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" on WLS Channel 7. Includes:
WLS' "Martin Luther King, Jr." station ID slide (voiceover by Al Parker)
The 3:00 Movie opening titles, derived from those of ABC's network movie shows as aired between 1975 and 1981, with an edited, sped-up version of the bridge from Ramsey Lewis' "Skippin' " as the theme (a variant of this opening - only with a change in time - was seen in New York City on WABC Channel 7's The 4:30 Movie in its last year on the air in 1980-81)
First moments of opening titles for "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" (notice at the very start of the picture, a "dissolve from white" effect which was common on RCA TK-27 film chains that went from black to a picture image)
This aired on local Chicago TV on Thursday, January 15th 1981 at 3pm.
