Here's a commercial for Woolworth stores advertising their "Dollar Days" with a lady in a carnival barker type getup. Also makes note of Woolworth's 100th Anniversary at the end of the ad (1879-1979).

My Mom used to call Woolworth's a "dime store". The one we specifically used to go to was in Cermak Plaza in Berwyn and a few doors down was "Murphy's" - another dimestore-type place. Anyone remember them?

    "Beat inflation, folks!"

This aired on local Chicago TV on Sunday, September 30th 1979 at a little before 11:00pm.
