WTVT Channel 13 - Pulse Featuring Jim Ruddle (Part 3, 1964)
Here's Part 3 of a rare edition of the nightly Pulse newscast from WTVT Channel 13 in Tampa / St. Petersburg, Florida, transferred from the original 2" quad videotape. This was notable in featuring future Chicago TV legend Jim Ruddle anchoring out of St. Petersburg at various points. This part features Hugh Smith in Tampa. Includes:
- A squabble over wrecker service rates to spill over to City Council hearing this week; Motor Club President Ridgley Jones is interviewed in which he gives his objections to changes to ordinance, and to how it has been carried out in practice; Hugh quotes Tampa Traffic Inspector Neil Brown as telling the newsroom that there was no intent to undercut ordinance
Hugh then teases an upcoming filmed report on Tierra Verde controversy before commercial break
Commercial: Greyhound Buses - with contrast between airport trips and Greyhound trips - "Leave the Driving to Us" (voiceover by ??) - followed by local angle (traveling from Tampa or St. Petersburg to Miami) from Paul Reynolds
This aired on local Tampa / St. Petersburg TV on Tuesday, December 15th 1964 during the 6pm to 6:30pm timeframe.
