Stationary Field Communications ID slide (voiceover by ??) I still want to know the name of the announcer on the ORIGINAL Field Communications IDs, an example of which is seen here. (Darwin Gillette did the VOs on the later animated Field IDs). Will we ever solve this mystery??

Promo for Newscene with Kathy McFarland, for weeknights at 9:55pm following Sanford & Son, with station ID (can also be seen here)

Thought For Today, given (off-screen) by Rev. Melvin E. Banks III, Pastor at Urban Ministries (by this point, the new video for Thought For Today with the Field-era 32 logo were put into place, to be used right through about 1984)

Station sign-off, with NAB Seal of Good Practice insignia and Association of Independent Television Stations (INTV) logo shown at pertinent points; a little glitch for about a second where it cuts off before resuming; the video portion of this sign-off was used as of a year later (with a different music bed and voiceover) on this clip.

(NOTE: It would appear that this sign-off would have been first created around 1977 when Field Communications regained control of WFLD after buying out Kaiser Broadcasting; a clue is the presence of Avant Garde Medium as used for both the station contact info and on the U.S. map which showed key Field stations in Boston [WLVI Channel 56], Philadelphia [WKBS Channel 48], Detroit [WKBD Channel 50] and San Francisco [KBHK Channel 44]; the Field-era 32 logo that comes in after the U.S. map may have been an add-on, as the map would have originally been followed by the Kaiser-era 32 logo as seen in clips such as here and here; if anybody has any info to prove or disprove this, please advise.)

Voiceovers for end of Newscene promo, intro and outro of Thought For Today, and station sign-off by Ron Beattie

National Anthem film produced by Sierra Club, followed by black and cutting of carrier

Based on a few pieces of evidence, including what was recorded on top of this, there are only four possible dates that this could have aired on local Chicago TV: 1) Early Sunday, January 14th 1979 at about 12:30am, 2) Early Sunday, January 21st at about 12:30am, 3) Early Sunday, January 28th at about 12:30am, or 4) Early Sunday, February 4th at about 12:30am. My personal hunch is 1-14-79. (Thanks to Chris Tufts once again for the schedule sleuthing)
