WFLD Channel 32 - Tennessee Tuxedo (Ending, 1980)
Ah, another teeny-tiny glimpse of glorious WFLD-TV kids programming from the late-seventies / early-eighties. Sure wish this guy let the tape run out, considering this was the last thing he recorded on the tape. But alas, he had to preserve 5-10 minutes of blank tape for 35 years. ;-)
Here's the ending moments of an episode of Tennessee Tuxedo on WFLD Channel 32.
A note on naming, from our researcher Chris Tufts: "As I recall WFLD billed the show as [just plain ol'] Tennessee Tuxedo, though the opening titles said "Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales" [the full name of the show in it's original airings]. The zooming bumper just said Tennessee Tuxedo with the WFLD name and logo. The music snippet under the zooming bumper was the same one that was used for the Casper zooming bumper.
Includes:
Ending moments of "Fractured Fairy Tales" segment (from Rocky & Bullwinkle) of a jester singing "Be a Clown" - voices include Daws Butler and June Foray [Fractured Fairy Tales was part of the syndicated package of Tennessee Tuxedo]
Closing credits (with voiceover promo for The Courtship of Eddie's Father and Magilla Gorilla by Dr. Don Rose):
Created and Produced by Total Television Productions (TTV)
Animation by Gamma Productions
Voices: Don Adams, Jackson Beck, Bradley Bolke, Kenny Delmar, George S. Irving, Mort Marshall, Norman Rose, Delo States, Ben Stone, Larry Storch, Allen Swift
Recording cuts out before Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumley roll out their "Don't Miss Our Next Show" banner (also seen here in the closing of the syndicated airings of Underdog)
Schedule Note: Tennessee Tuxedo aired before The Courtship of Eddie's Father with Magilla Gorilla following at 2:30pm only during a specific timeframe. Therefore, we can say that:
This aired on local Chicago TV sometime between Monday, February 4th 1980 and Friday, August 31st 1980.
