Here's a neat and rare clip of the local Los Angeles Romper Room show from 1977! (this was yet another "easter egg" found at the end of a Betamax tape whose contents had been partially recorded over - boy, do we love these!)

The host was Miss Soco (Socorro Swan - now Socorro Serrano) who incidentally was the only Latina teacher the show ever had in all of its incarnations. She presided over the LA-area Romper Room from 1975 to 1989, having taken over from Miss Mary Ann (King) who was the teacher from 1966 until 1975.

In this excerpt, Ms. Soco leads the kiddies in the Look and See game, then they have music time and finally we see the beginning of a performance of the Three Little Pigs by Stacy, Michelle, Tiffany and Brooke. Sadly, we do not get to see the end of the act before the tape mercilessly expires abruptly and 1977 continues on into an uncertain future...

Also includes a commercial break with the following:

Local promo for the Fall lineup on Channel 13 starting Monday, September 19th (voiceover by Charlie O'Donnell) Lineup consisted of:

    Funky Fantom [sic] at 2:30pm
    Penelope Pitstop at 3:00pm
    Bugs Bunny at 3:30pm
    Popeye at 4:00pm
    Woody Woodpecker at 4:30pm
    Heckle & Jeckle at 5:00pm

Southern California Lung Associations PSA - "Asthma" - "a matter of life and breath"

Fire Prevention PSA featuring Dick Van Dyke from the National Fire Protection Association - "Grease Fires" - Learn Not To Burn

PSA from The Western Water Education Foundation (WWEF) advising you to "Use Water Wisely" and encouraging conservation (voiceover by ??)

This aired on local Los Angeles TV in September of 1977.
